School of the Ranger
Each year during the last weekend of January, Jaeger’s Battalion, in concert with the Rangers of the Ohio Company, Rutherford’s Rangers, and The Friends of Fort Frederick conduct a School of the Ranger (SOR).
The purpose of the SOR is to promote the historical 18th c. ranger impression by providing accurate and updated information on Rogers’ Rangers and the cultures of the time. Subjects taught range from field skills that rangers required to cultures they encountered, such as the Eastern Woodland Indian cultures.
You can find additional information on the SOR here.
